Pastor Tarawa “T.C.” Cartwright
Reared in a Christian home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Pastor Tarawa “T.C.” Cartwright worked in church ministry at an early age. Alongside his parents Pastor Carlton Cartwright and Mother Charlotta Cartwright and ten siblings, he served in many church departments including the choir, maintenance, music, and usher auxiliaries, all of which prepared him for the many facets of ministry.
Called to the ministry under the leadership of Bishop Howard J. Crosby, Pastor TC began engaging with souls as the minister of music and served faithfully in that capacity from 2005-2019. Pastor TC was licensed to preach the gospel in 2016, and his first sermon was entitled, ” Can you handle the pressure”. Pastor TC has a unique gift to preach the gospel, with his down to earth yet spirit filled delivery. Anyone who has ever experienced his ministry can attest to Gods hand being on his life.
Subsequently, Pastor TC was ordained in 2018 and soon after was voted in to succeed Bishop Howard Crosby as the senior pastor of National Temple Pentecostal Church of God Inc. On March 30, 2019 Pastor TC was installed as the senior pastor of National Temple Pentecostal Church of God, Inc a beacon nestled in the heart of West Philadelphia for over sixty years. Hands were laid on him by some of the most influential Pastors in the locality. Bishop Dominque Joachim, Bishop Paul Harmon, Bishop Leroy Long, Bishop Keith Rollerson, and Bishop Dwayne Bull. Under Pastor TC’s leadership the name of National Temple Pentecostal Church of God was changed to National Temple Worship Center. Pastor TC served diligently at National Temple for five years. His impact and presence in the community caused him to have a Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Even though there were times when Pastor TC wanted to give up, where he wanted to quit God reminded him of the words of Apostle Paul “I’m a prisoner of Jesus Christ”. Subsequently, in January of 2024 with the support and approval of the board the name of National Temple Worship Center was changed to Resurgence Worship Cathedral. With a new vision and new strategies Pastor Cartwright has continued the work set before him to accomplish.
Holding firm to the divine words of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:9, “and let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not,” Pastor TC fulfills his calling by pouring his heart into people– loving them where they are, as they are. Through his consistent and persistent outreach, Pastor TC compels all to Christ by preaching, teaching, and living God’s Word. With a tremendous passion and determination to be of service to God, his members, and the community, his vision is to make a difference beyond the Sunday worship service– providing resources and support to members of Resurgence Worship Cathedral and the West Philadelphia community through a comprehensive ministry program.
Pastor TC actively participates in the Philadelphia community. He has a background in marketing and management with years of experience in funeral service operations. He and his wife are the proud owners of G. Choice Funeral Chapel Inc and Cartwright Family Mortuary in Milford, DE. Pastor TC is an active member of the Joint College of Pentecostal Bishops, National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, and the Philadelphia Police 16th District Police Advisory Council.
Pastor Cartwright and his wife, First Lady Britni Cartwright were married in 2015. Their union has been blessed with a blended family of nine children. Together, they serve to make Resurgence Worship Cathedral a place where everyone experiences a rising again into life and where Prominence, Increase and Revival are the metric for daily living.
