Pastor Tarawa “T.C.” Cartwright
Reared in a Christian home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Pastor Tarawa “T.C.” Cartwright was immersed in church ministry from an early age. Alongside his parents, Pastor Carlton Cartwright and Mother Charlotta Cartwright, and his ten siblings, he served in multiple church departments, including the choir, maintenance, music, and usher auxiliaries. These formative experiences prepared him for the multifaceted responsibilities of ministry.
Called to ministry under the leadership of Bishop Howard J. Crosby, Pastor T.C. served faithfully as Minister of Music from 2005 to 2019, engaging souls through worship and service. He was licensed to preach the gospel in 2016, delivering his initial sermon titled “Can You Handle the Pressure?” Pastor T.C. is known for his grounded yet Spirit-led preaching style, and many testify to the evident hand of God upon his life and ministry.
He was ordained in 2018 and soon thereafter was elected to succeed Bishop Howard J. Crosby as Senior Pastor of National Temple Pentecostal Church of God, Inc. On March 30, 2019, he was installed as Senior Pastor of the historic West Philadelphia congregation, which had served the community for more than sixty years. He was affirmed by influential leaders in the region, including Bishop Dominque Joachim, Bishop Paul Harmon, Bishop Leroy Long, Bishop Keith Rollerson, and Bishop Dwayne Bull. Under his leadership, the church was renamed National Temple Worship Center, where he served for five years.
In January 2024, with the support and approval of the board, the church was renamed Resurgence Worship Cathedral, reflecting a renewed vision and strategic direction. Later in 2024, Pastor Cartwright was affirmed as Senior Pastor of Resurgence Worship Cathedral and joined the Holy Temple of Deliverance Covenant Churches under the leadership of Bishop Dominque Joachim.
Guided by the biblical exhortation of Galatians 6:9, Pastor T.C. remains steadfast in his calling, dedicating himself to preaching, teaching, and living God’s Word. His ministry emphasizes compassionate outreach, discipleship, and community engagement, with a vision that extends beyond Sunday worship to provide holistic support and resources to members and the West Philadelphia community.
Pastor T.C. is active in the Philadelphia community and has a professional background in marketing, management, and funeral service operations. He is also an active member of the Joint College of Pentecostal Bishops, the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, and the Philadelphia Police 16th District Police Advisory Council.
Pastor Cartwright is the father of nine children: Londynn, Alana, Tyree, Darien, Asa, Journee, MaxMorgan, Tarawa II, and TaraMadison. He is committed to cultivating a ministry environment where individuals experience spiritual renewal, growth, and transformation, with Prominence, Increase, and Revival serving as guiding principles for daily living.
